Baobing (Chinese: 刨冰; pinyin: bàobīng), also known by its Taiwanese Hokkien name Tsuabing is a shaved ice dessert found in China. It is especially popular.
Surprisingly, it's not that hard to find. From night markets to dedicated shops like Yong Kang 15, Taiwanese shaved ice is a staple in Taipei.
It all started with Instagram. My sister, who lives in South Korea, posted a photo of patbingsu, a Korean dessert that takes shaved ice and tops it.
